You may have heard about the Koo app, which was launched in India last year. But do you know about it and its features in detail? Great! I’ll discuss it in-depth, so stay tuned till the end to get a deep insight.
Koo app is the winner app of PM Narendra Modi’s Atma Nirbhar App Challenge. This challenge was an invitation from the PM to promote digital innovation among startups and entrepreneurs in India to develop products that can meet India’s digital needs in eight categories.
It is an opinion-sharing micro Indian blogging platform in multiple Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu. This app is a complete alternative to Twitter, which enables you to express your thoughts in text, speech, or video. Like Twitter tweets, its posts are known as Koo.
Koo app was developed and launched in March 2020. It is used by many famous personalities such as Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Shri Sadhguru, Karnataka MP Tejasvi Surya, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, CN Ashwathnarayan, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Ashutosh Rana, and many others to connect with their followers.
This Indian app connects Indians in Indian languages by providing 400 characters to deliver their ideas through text, 1-minute audio, or video. Moreover, its incredible features include 1-1 messaging, people feed, language news feeds, hyper-local hashtags, English to language keyboard, and some others.
I have mentioned some dominating features of the Koo app. Let’s move to explore them.
It has an attractive and user-friendly interface with a beautiful combo of yellow and white. As the Koo app is developed for non-English speaking and non-Hindi speaking Indians, this app is easy to access and useable for every Indian to communicate in their mother tongue.
It is the main feature of the Koo app. When you open the app, a language selection window appears with multiple Indian languages. You can choose anyone you speak better with after the language selection app allows you to move forward.
To convey your ideas to the Indian community, it’s just to have an account on Koo. To make an account on Koo is very simple; you need to enter your phone number; after this action, an OPT will send on your number and entered automatically on the app to verify your account. Now you can add your profile picture, other information if you want.
Share your ideas:
Another incredible feature of the app. Koo allows you to share your ideas in the form of text, voice, images, or video. If you are not efficient in writing, you can make a video and share it with others, but if you can’t make a video or feel shy, you can record your audio and deliver your message. Additionally, you can use the hashtag or @ below your Koo.
Koo app is not only limited to share your ideas. It offers a messaging feature as well to communicate with a person or friends in your inbox. This feature works like other messaging apps; you can use it by simply clicking on its icon located at the app window’s bottom. It enables you to communicate with your friends in different languages by which you are comfortable.
Share your profile:
This twitter alternative platform enables you to share your profile on other networks such as Whatsapp, Facebook, and Twitter, which increases your followers. To share your profile, click on the profile picture at the corner of the app window. Share option will show at the top. Further, you can add your youtube channel link to increase your audience.
The News feeds feature contains many categories: tending Koos, trending hashtags, latest Koos, Rajneeti Koos, and sports Koos. You can view any Koo of your interest by choosing any. Another category in new feeds is around me, and it enables you to view the Koos in your surrounding location to keep you up to date.
Searching and Notification:
Searching and notification feature works typically like in other apps. Using the searching feature, you can search for any person’s ID using the@ and his name. While by clicking on the notification icon, you can get the updates like, who follows you, who recently posted, who likes or comment on your Koo, and many others.
So this was all about the Koo Indian app. I have highlighted all features with the necessary description. It works the same as Twitter. It is specially developed for India, so no need to depend on Twitter. I hope this article will provide you a complete guide to use this app, its features and freely express your thoughts on trending News or issue.
